Sadio Mane equals Darwin Nunez with goal and trophy on Bayern Munich debut

Sadio Mane hasn't taken long to get off the mark at Bayern Munich after he bagged in the German Super Cup on Saturday.

Mane was on the end of some individual brilliance by Serge Gnabry to double Bayern's lead on the half-hour mark. Bayern romped to victory in a 5-3 demolition of RB Leipzig – whose first goal came when already found themselves three goals down.

And Mane's replacement on Merseyside, Darwin Nunez, was also quick to get off the mark. Nunez pushed the game beyond Manchester City's reach as he nodded home for Liverpool's third at the King Power Stadium.

After the game, Jurgen Klopp said: "In the first few games [of pre-season] we were not even close to the fitness level of today.

"And then when he [Nunez] came on, we passed each ball for him to chase it and after the third ball he was completely killed and then everybody judged his first touches and these kind of things."

Klopp added: "I think Darwin would have been fine even without scoring the third one because the penalty was Millie's cross and his header."
