Liverpool urged to sign Erling Haaland to replace ‘concerning’ Roberto Firmino
Liverpool have been urged to break the bank for "real deal" Erling Haaland to replace Roberto Firmino amid "concerns" over the Reds' forward.
Firmino has struggled for form of late and questions were even raised over his contribution to his side in last season's title win.
The Brazilian has only scored five times in 27 appearances so far in this campaign, while Liverpool's front three have severely under-performed since Christmas.
Their displays even led ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher to suggest the club should be looking to replace one of the trio sooner rather than later – an opinion echoed by Anfield great John Aldridge.
“Roberto Firmino's form has been a concern for some time, so I would encourage Liverpool to do all they can to sign Erling Haaland next summer," Aldridge told the Sunday World :
“This lad looks to be the real deal and he has lived up to his hype time and again over the last year. He's strong, direct, great in the air and a brilliant finisher.
“On top of that, he is young and hungry, which is what Liverpool need in a team that has lost a little of its bite amid their current slump.

It's been an extremely interesting start to the season for Jurgen Klopp's men.
They got their title defence off to a shaky start as they edged out a seven-goal thriller against Leeds, before going on to conceded seven in a hammering by Aston Villa.
Virgil van Dijk's season was ended by injury in the 2-2 draw at Everton, leaving the title favourites looking far less secure at the back – especially with Alisson's injury worries too.
But there's no slowing down in what is going to be a busy campaign – with Klopp ensuring his men continue at full pace as they bid for more title glory.

“Haaland has everything you look for to be a top centre-forward and having him alongside Mane, Salah and Diogo Jota next season would give Liverpool a real chance to spring back into contention for the top trophies."
Aldridge conceded Haaland would likely cost Liverpool around £100million to prise him from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
That in itself could prove difficult, given Liverpool had to negotiate structured deals to bring in their two main summer acquisitions Jota and Thiago Alcantara.

The lack of supporters at football grounds continues to hamper club finances, which in turn is likely to reduce the transfer kitty at Jurgen Klopp's disposal.
Haaland does have a release clause in his contract which comes into play at the end of next season, believed to be around £65million.
However the likes of Real Madrid, Man Utd and Chelsea are all circling the 20-year-old already, suggesting he may not stay on the market that long.
