Everton striker Moise Kean has made it clear he wants to join Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent transfer this summer. Kean has performed well on loan with PSG this season and now looks set to complete a move to the French capital.

The 21-year-old striker joined Everton in a £27million transfer from Juventus in the summer of 2019, but struggled to make an impact on Merseyside.

Kean has made just 37 appearances for Everton – and just six Premier League starts – since that transfer from Juve, scoring four goals.

Everton allowed him to join PSG on a season-long loan in October and the Italy international has looked much more settled in France.

He has scored 17 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, including one in Sunday’s 4-0 win over Reims.

Kean still has three years left on the five-year contract he signed when he arrived at Everton, but PSG are understood to have the option to make the loan deal permanent at the end of the season.

That is exactly the eventuality that Kean wants, judging by his Instagram post on Monday afternoon.

He wrote: “Happy to score in the last game at Parc des Princes , Hope to see you next season!” alongside a fingers crossed emoji.

It seems unlikely that Everton would stand in the way of Kean’s wishes, considering he scored just two goals in 33 appearances for the Toffees last season.

As well as struggling for goals, Kean also had some off-the-field problems on Merseyside.

Everton said they were “appalled” after Kean was pictured at a party during the coronavirus lockdown last year, while he was also dropped from the squad in 2019 after being late for a team meeting for the second time.

Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti addressed the situation with Kean earlier this season, after he made a strong start to life in Paris.

“First we have to look at the desire of the player,” Ancelotti said in January.

“If the player wants to stay at PSG then of course the two clubs have to sit at the table to talk about this, and we are open to talk.

“The club is open to talk if PSG wants to sign Moise Kean, who is doing really well in this moment.”

Kean’s former club Juventus have also been linked with a move, but a contract with PSG would now appear the most likely course of action.

PSG have already signed Neymar up to a contract extension until 2025, but rumours persist around Kylian Mbappe, who is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract.
