BT Sport dump Jake Humphrey for Lynsey Hipgrave as Prem host in major shake-up

BT Sport have replaced Jake Humphrey with Lynsey Hipgrave as the host of their Premier League coverage.

Humphrey has presented the broadcaster's Saturday lunchtime programming since 2013, but they've decided to have a major shake-up ahead of the new English top flight season with Hipgrave taking over in his place.

She's previously worked for BT covering the Europa League and Ligue 1 but will now inherit Prem duties, starting at Craven Cottage on Saturday (August 6) as Fulham host Liverpool. "I couldn’t be any prouder to be leading @btsport’s Premier League coverage this season. We KO with Fulham v Liverpool on Saturday at 11.30am BT Sport 1."

Humphrey, who will continue to host BT Sport's Champions League output, replied: "You’re going to be amazing Lynsey. So delighted for you. Please just let me back for the odd game [winking face with tongue emoji] [love heart emoji]."

Hipgrave, 42, landed a role with Al Jazeera in 2010 which kickstarted her broadcasting career. She's gone on to work for the likes of ESPN, Eurosport and talkSPORT.

Like Humphrey, she began presenting on BT in 2013 and has covered a range of events. Although primarily working in television, she made her breakthrough in radio and co-presented the Saturday morning show on Radio 5 Live until July 2016.
