Conor McGregor branded Dustin Poirier a "p***y" seconds before knocking him out in their first fight at UFC 178.
And the Irishman's 10-word tirade will no doubt still be ringing in Poirier's ears as he seeks revenge later this month.
McGregor and his American rival will meet for the first time in more than six years at UFC 257 on Dana White’s Fight Island in Abu Dhabi later this month.
Their first fight back in September 2014 ended in a first-round knockout – but Poirier expects a very different encounter on January 23.
McGregor was targeting his fourth consecutive win when they first met in Las Vegas, and promised a first-round knockout as he played mind games with Poirier.
The trash talking then continued in the octagon.
After starting the fight with a kick to Poirier's head, McGregor launched a series of bruising left hands at his opponent.
After Poirier eventually fought back, McGregor said to him: "What you got p****? Is that all you got p****?"
As it turned out, it was all Poirier had on that occasion, as seconds later, McGregor duly delivered the opening-round knockout he had predicted.
This time around, Poirier can see the fight panning out in various different ways – but all of them involve him beating 'The Notorious'.
Dustin Poirier asked if he would ‘kill’ Conor McGregor in crunch UFC rematch
“I envision a lot of different things happening and the fight going different ways, but at the end I always envision me winning,” he said.
“Getting back on that long flight home with the win, come and see my daughter. That feels so good you know.
“Whatever it takes to make that a reality, I'm willing to do so let's just go.”
Poirier was beaten by McGregor’s bitter rival Khabib Nurmagomedov back in September 2019, before bouncing back in a unanimous points victory over Dan Hooker last June.

McGregor has not competed since his explosive win over Donald Cerrone in January 2020.
The former two-weight UFC champion is looking to get past Poirier and edge himself towards a lightweight title shot, with Khabib and Justin Gaethje in his sights.
He recently issued a chilling warning to his upcoming opponent by writing on Twitter: “I promise a masterpiece.”
