Yaya Toure "available" to help Barcelona with City icon doing coaching badges
Yaya Toure has revealed he is "always available" to help Barcelona after the trust the Spanish giants put in him in the early days of his career.
The Manchester City legend spent three seasons in Spain after signing from Monaco in 2007 having played in Ligue 1 for just one season.
Prior to this he had only played in Belgium, Ukraine and Greece after moving to Europe from Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas in July 2001.
He has now said that he would happily repay the faith that Barcelona showed in him during his career by helping the club in the future as they struggle financially.
Writing on Twitter, Toure said: "My time at Barcelona was one of the best memories of my playing career.
"The club has decided to trust me when I was still a young player, yet to establish myself in the top leagues. I will forever be grateful to the club for what they have done for me.
"It may be a difficult time for the club but my belief for Barcelona is strong. I will always be available for the club should they need me anytime as my heart is forever with the club, the people and the fans."
Barcelona are currently ninth in La Liga after seven matches having lost 2-0 to reigning champions Atletico Madrid on Saturday night.

This came after they had already drawn with minnows Granada and Cadiz, as well as losing 3-0 in their first two Champions League matches against Bayern Munich and Benfica.
Toure made 118 appearances for Barcelona between 2007 and 2010, winning the Champions League in 2009 as well as two league titles and one Copa del Rey.
He then went on to spend eight years at Man City, making 316 appearances and scoring 79 goals as he won three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and three League Cups with the club.
Having retired in January 2020, Toure is now completing his coaching badges and is the assistant manager of Russian Premier Liga side Akhmat Grozny.
He was appointed in June, having spent several months working in the same role at Ukrainian side Olimpik Donetsk last season.
