World Cup WAG claimed stars ‘not great lovers’ & prefer to ‘pleasure themselves’

A World Cup WAG once claimed that footballers are "not great lovers" and prefer to "pleasure themselves".

Albanian model Erjona Sulejmani was married to former Switzerland midfielder Blerim Dzemaili for three years between 2015 and 2018 before they divorced. Having wowed fans after being spotted in the stands during the European Championships in 2016 and went on to appear on Italian reality show Le Capitaine the following year.

During her time on the show, Sulejmani was asked about her sex life with Dzemaili before his matches, responding: “Sex before matches? Footballers are not great lovers. They prefer to do it themselves.”

However, her comments did not go down well with Dzemaili. According to the Daily Mail, he contacted his lawyers after Sulejmani's comments and asked them to serve his intention to divorce her.

In addition, he also requested that his legal team have her stop using her surname and their divorce was reportedly finalised by January 2018.

The couple had one son together during their marriage and Sulejmani vowed to continue cheering on Switzerland at the 2018 World Cup despite her split from Dzemaili.

Speaking to The Sun at the time, she explained: “Cheering for Blerim will not be strange for me. I will always cheer for my ex-husband, he is the father of my son Luan.”

Sulejmani is not the only WAG to have complained of a lack of sex around matches, with Brazilian model Izabel Goulart experiencing something similar.

Her partner Kevin Trapp is said to ban her from sleeping with him when his side loses, but it has not stopped her cheering him on for Germany and Paris Saint-Germain.

Dzemaili was not included in the Swiss squad for this year's World Cup, though, with his nation reaching the last 16 before being thrashed by Portugal.

During his international career, he won 69 caps for Switzerland and scored 11 goals, appearing at three World Cups and one European Championship.
