  • West Ham are interested in recruiting Nigerian forward Terem Moffi from Lorient
  • The Hammers though believe that his £25m valuation is beyond their budget
  • They might have to wait until the Summer window before they can make a move

West Ham might have to wait until the summer to sign Lorient forward Terem Moffi.

As previously reported, the Hammers have asked about the availability of the 23-year-old Nigerian, as David Moyes looks to strengthen his team in what has been a difficult season so far.

French side Lorient have set an asking price of £25m for the player who has scored ten goals in 14 games this season.

The Hammers believe this is beyond their budget for the January transfer window, meaning they that while retain an interest in the forward, it looks like they will have to wait to try and bring him to the London Stadium.

Moffi left Nigeria and moved to England to join the Buckswood Football Academy in Hastings at the age of 17.

He then took his talents to Lithuania where he played for Kauno Zalgiris and Riteriai.

Moffi then had a short spell at Belgian side Kortrijk before joining Lorient in October 2020.

West Ham are unable to spend big after their hefty spending spree during the summer window in which they forked out big money for the likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta.
