West Ham manager David Moyes has come under pressure in recent weeks with the Hammers suffering an inconsistent start to the Premier League season. Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace maintained the club’s position towards the wrong end of the table, sitting just two points clear of the relegation zone as the winter break for the World Cup grows ever closer.

Fans have started to turn on their manager but reports yesterday suggested that the club would keep the faith in the Scotsman who has overseen so much success in his time at the London Stadium. However, things can change very quickly in football and Express Sport has looked at the other options available to the Irons should they decide to part with their manager.

Ralph Hassenhuttl (free agent)

The Austrian had his four-year spell at the St Mary’s Stadium cut short yesterday as Southampton announced that he had been relieved of his duties following a run of just one win in nine games.

However, Hassenhuttl gained many plaudits during his spell in the Saints hot seat and may relish the chance to get back into the dugout. The West Ham job is likely to be hugely tempting for the 55-year-old and the Hammers could benefit from a man determined to prove a point.

Ange Postecoglou (Celtic)

The Aussie has overseen a fantastic transformation at Celtic Park, quickly overcoming what had become a big gap to city rivals Rangers to win the Scottish Premiership last season. He has been praised for encouraging an attacking brand of football, something which is likely to appeal to West Ham supporters.

With the Hoops now out of European football, Postecoglou may be more willing to take an opportunity within the Premier League, with the Irons one of the most exciting teams in the league to take charge of.

Sean Dyche (free agent)

As soon as a Premier League managerial post is rumoured to be on the verge of becoming vacant, Dyche is linked with the role. The 51-year-old has be open about his ambitions to return to the dugout after a long spell in charge of Burnley but has yet to be given an opportunity with some concerns over his play style.

However, if David Gold and co want to ensure results Dyche could well be their man. The Englishman would help the club to grind out more results with their league position benefitting as a result.

Rafael Benitez (free agent)

Benitez is known to be keen on a return to the dugout and remains one of the best options available despite a poor spell in charge of Everton. He enjoyed a fantastic spell in the Newcastle hot seat before disappointing at Goodison and it is this sort of form West Ham fans would hope to see if he got the job.

As a Champions League and Europa League winner he would arrive at the London Stadium with a serious pedigree however supporters may still be wary after Manuel Pellegrini’s struggles at the helm before Moyes’ arrival.
