US woman’s reaction to crude Everton sticker leaves Manchester mayor in stitches

An American woman's failure to understand a crude Everton sticker has left Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham in stitches on Twitter.

The woman is filming a video from New Jersey as she points out the Statue of Liberty and then Ellis Island. However, she then adds: "Here's something really interesting, that maybe you're familiar with, because this seems like it's something from your country.

"I don't know what it means but it seems British," the camera then pans down to a sticker that read: "Kopite's are gobs****s." And Burnham shared the video on Twitter with a laughing emoji.

And it wasn't just Burnham that was happy to see the Merseyside derby going stateside, one fan tweeted: "One of my favourite videos this!"

"For a team that aren’t that well travelled they get f***ing everywhere the blue s****," a second Liverpool fan fumed. And a third added: "Hahaha this is brilliant and absolutely true!"

Everton are currently facing a battle for survival in the Premier League – with Sean Dyche's side 15th, but every side below the Toffee's has at least one game in hand.

And to add to Everton's misery, they are only three points off the bottom of the table.
