Tens of thousands of Frankfurt fans pack out home stadium like concert for final
Eintracht Frankfurt fans packed out their Waldstadion home stadium with tens of thousands of fans on Wednesday evening to watch their Europa League final victory over Rangers on huge screens.
The 51,500 capacity stadium was packed to the rafters as their heroes took to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium to face off against their Scottish opponents in more ways than one.
With each club given an allocation of less than 10,000, many of the German support saw a chance to recreate that atmosphere in their home city – as has been shown by a viral video of them going wild after Rafael Santos Borre canceled out Joe Aribo's opener.
After seeing the scenes back in Germany, one football fan wrote on Twitter: "No sport comes close."
With a second adding: "Wow, phenomenal support."
A third continued: "This is crazy."

A fifth wrote: "German fans are the best!"
Rangers and Frankfurt half a cagey start in the Spanish showdown, with neither side coming close to the opening goal during the first-half.
Then after 15 minutes of the second-half, Aribo rolled home an opening goal to give the Glasgow fans dreams of playing in the Champions League next season.
However, Borre fired the game level with 20 minutes of normal time remaining, with the game going all the way to penalty kicks after extra-time.
In a glorious ending for the home fans, Frankfurt took the trophy back to Germany with Aaron Ramsey the only player to miss in the shootout.
