Manchester United's new approach to training has been analysed on Twitter as Erik ten Hag looks to work his magic ahead of next season.
It's been the perfect start to life at United for Ten Hag, as the Red Devils have walked their pre-season so far with wins against Liverpool and Melbourne Victory. Of course, until the domestic calendar begins nothing can be certain, but it does look as though Ten Hag's players have already bought into his system.
And one Twitter user has really investigated what Ten Hag has been up to as they posted a fascinating thread explaining how the Dutchman made his stars train before thrashing Liverpool 4-0. User @guillaume_0823 claims to be a Level 1 PFSA Opposition Analyst with a UEFA C Licence, and it certainly looks legit.

In addition to an earlier physical session, a more tactical plan is orchestrated as the user explained: "A low-intensity rondo in the centre circle awaits the players. No more than one touch is allowed, and three chasers intercept the ball."
More drills are then planned, with even more rules. this time with a full XI being involved to develop speed and awareness. And it seems like Ten Hag is taking no prisoners in defence, as the user spotted: "Defenders must ensure the ball is not kept in play for a set amount of time. If they fail, they must do push-ups. This strict rule which appears in lots of Ten Hag's sessions add incentive and a competitive edge."
And during this, Ten Hag was heard delivering his expertise during the training session. Ten Hag shouted: "Put an extra player in the middle. Two in the middle. Then we can make triangles, that's football. Always the same principles."
The user reacted to this, and said: "This gives a little insight into Ten Hag's footballing philosophy, but also that the coach is not afraid to alter his drills during sessions. This is a good didactic competence to possess."
United have needed change for some time, and after recording their worst ever Premier League finish last season, Ten Hag will be looking to restore some order. And it's been nothing but positive in pre-season so far.
The Red Devils kick off their season against Brighton on August 7, and will be looking to make a perfect start after starting stong last season. But it was further down the line where they became stuck, meaning they must shown determination if they are to achieve success.
