Spotify founder Daniel Ek ‘can tempt Kroenkes to sell Arsenal’ with £2bn bid

Spotify founder Daniel Ek “can tempt” the Kroenke family to sell Arsenal with a £2bn bid.

The Swedish billionaire, worth £3.4bn according to Forbes , expressed his desire to buy the Gunners as fans protested against their owners following the fallout of the European Super League saga.

Writing on his Twitter channel, the 38-year-old said: “As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for Arsenal as long as I can remember. If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I'd be happy to throw my hat in the ring.”

And The Telegraph have reported that the media mogul’s message on Twitter was ‘genuine’.

Ek, who co-founded the music streaming service in 2002 is prepared to enter into negotiations with the Gunners owner.

While sources close to the Kroenke family have reportedly claimed that would be tempted to sell at a bid of £2bn.

And this would mean the billionaire would need form a consortium or find a partner if he wanted to negotiate with the American family.

But Josh Kroenke, when pushed on the family’s desire to sell during a Q&A with fans on Friday, said the owners have ‘no intention of selling’.

And Gunners guru David Ornstein has suggested that the Kroenke Sports & Entertainment chiefs will not even consider Ek’s offer unless it hits some big heights.

He said on Sky Sports: “Ek would need a partner, given his net worth. It won’t even cross the brow of the Kroenke family.

“It would take something astronomical for them to consider selling. They’re not sellers, they’re long-term investors.

“They will plough on with their project, I have no doubt about that.”
