Son Heung-min has been named in South Korea’s 26-man World Cup squad after declaring himself fit for the tournament.
The South Korea captain had been a doubt for the tournament after suffering a broken orbital bone in Spurs’ Champions League win over Marseille earlier this month.
Son underwent successful surgery following the injury, but South Korea boss Paulo Bento is not sure when the 30-year-old will be able to return to training.

The Spurs’ star’s inclusion was in doubt after he suffered a fractured orbital bone in the club’s win over Marseille
‘We don’t have that information yet,’ said Bento.
‘We are in contact with him, with the Tottenham medical department. We need to wait, we need to analyse day by day his situation.
‘We have time to decide and the most important is he recovers as well as possible, he feels comfortable and then we will take the final decision.’
Hwang Hee-chan(left) and Kim Min-jae(right) have also been selected in Paulo Bento’s 26-man squad
The former Bayern Leverkusen forward has been an integral member of the South Korean national team ever since making his international debut in 2010 and is currently the side’s captain.
Wolves star Hwang Hee-chan and Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae have also been named in Bento’s squad for the upcoming tournament as South Korea look to better their iconic fourth-placed finish as hosts in 2002.
The Taegeuk Warriors will open their World Cup campaign against two-time winners Uruguay on the 24th of November.
