Sickening moment Saudi Arabia goalkeeper smashes his team-mate with a flying knee in stoppage time of their stunning win over Argentina… as players desperately called for medics before the injured defender was stretchered off

Saudi Arabia’s dramatic World Cup clash with Argentina saw a sickening collision involving keeper Mohammed Alowais and team-mate Yasser Al-Shahrani.

As a long ball went forward Alowais caught his team-mate with a flying knee which appeared to knock out his team-mate.

The keeper desperately called for medics to come onto the pitch and though the defender initially stood up he was then taken off on a stretcher.

Al-Shahrani gave a thumbs up as he was stretchered off the pitch.

The pair were jumping up for the ball with Argentina’s Nahuel Molina when they collided

Al-Shahrani initially stood up before he was stretchered off the pitch looking in pain though he did give a thumbs up as he was taken off towards the end of their stunning win over Argentina
