Roy Keane has disagreed with Gary Neville over Harry Kane’s disallowed goal during the first half at Stamford Bridge. The Tottenham star thought he had put his side ahead when he coolly slotted home from close range but saw his effort chalked off for a push on Thiago Silva.
Neville, who was on commentary duties for Sky Sports, immediately questioned the decision and claimed Kane’s goal should have stood.
But his former Manchester United teammate Keane had a difference of opinion, citing two reasons why the referee got his decision spot on.
Speaking at half-time, Keane told Sky Sports: “Believe it or not Gary is wrong.
“It was a decent piece of play from Spurs, a counter-attack. I think when you’re running at that pace, at the time when I was watching I thought it was a goal. But he just does lean into him and I think the referee has got that 100% right.
“I think when you’re running at that pace there is (enough contact). And when you’re 36, 37 – you’re going to go down. When you’re at that pace it’s just a little touch you need.”

Kane was brilliantly picked out by Steven Bergwijn in the box and appeared to make slight contact with Silva before swivelling and firing into the corner.
The Spurs man peeled away in celebration but his joy was short-lived as the referee immediately blew up for a foul.
Neville reiterated his point that he felt it was soft after the break, saying: “I remember getting a push off Keane and going down, deary me. I’m not sure about that.
“I think we’ve lost the comprehension of what a foul is and isn’t. Silva is clever but I think Kane was very unfortunate.”

Chelsea wasted little time in punishing Spurs’ misfortune, scoring quickly after the break courtesy of a stunning, curling strike from Hakim Ziyech.
The Blues then took further control of the game by doubling their lead eight minutes later.
This time through Silva with the Brazilian heading in Mason Mount’s inswinging free-kick.
