Real Madrid star Luka Jovic is being linked with a move to Manchester United. And while the player’s current stance is unknown, it was previously claimed that he was ‘seduced’ by the idea of playing for the Red Devils. The Serbia international has toiled at the Bernabeu since joining two years ago and, therefore, could be cut loose.

Real Madrid are open to selling Jovic this summer.

With Los Blancos needing to raise funds if they’re to sign Kylian Mbappe away from Paris Saint-Germain, the player could now join United.

Tribal Football say the Red Devils have held internal discussions about a potential deal for the 23-year-old, who has scored just two La Liga goals throughout his time in Spain.

Solskjaer is said to be a big admirer of the player, admiring him for the ruthlessness he displayed during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt.

And while United are yet to make an official bid, it’s possible that will arrive in the next two weeks.

At the moment, it’s unclear what Jovic’s mindset is.

He’s already confessed he’s yet to speak to Carlo Ancelotti about his future, saying recently: “I haven’t spoken with the new coach [Carlo] Ancelotti about my situation.

“He has started preparing and I am giving everything I can in every moment, trying to impose myself and to be best prepared as possible for the new season.

“I try to give a positive impression and show what is my best.

“Many things have happened in recent years.

“I am sure that I could have been better, but I want everything to turn out well in the end. I didn’t arrive at Real Madrid by accident.”

But it was reported by AS last September that, as United were chasing Jovic, the Red Devils had been able to ‘seduce’ the striker.

The publication stated at the time that United were looking at a deal for the Serbian international having turned their attentions to signing a new striker.

Jovic, then, was tempted to make the move to the Theatre of Dreams.

But everything then changed, with the marksman staying in Spain until January where he’d later go on to return to Frankfurt, scoring four times.

United then opted to land Edinson Cavani instead, bringing the Uruguay international to the club on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

And whether they’re now able to land Jovic this time around, amid concerns Cavani won’t be able to play every game, remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, former Red Devils star Clayton Blackmore feels Solskjaer should still sign a striker despite having Cavani, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial capable of playing down the middle.

“I still think United need another centre-forward,” he said.

“Cavani is still one of the best in the world right now along with [Robert] Lewandowski and [Erling] Haaland.

“I don’t know the situation with Haaland, but you’d take him because he’s fast, he’s powerful and he’s a great finisher.

“It would be great if we could sign him, but we have got Mason Greenwood who should be playing down the middle.”

United have signed six strikers since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

Louis van Gaal brought in Martial and Radamel Falcao from Monaco, with the latter scoring just four times during his spell at the club.

Jose Mourinho snapped up Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku, though neither player lasted too long.

And Solskjaer has brought Cavani and Odion Ighalo to the club during his reign so far.
