Rasmus Hojlund ‘furious’ claim as Man Utd striker draws Ronaldo comparison
Ten Hag backs Onana despite more struggles in Man Utd defeat
Rasmus Hojlund should be furious at his Manchester United teammates for undoing his impressive brace against Galatasaray, according to Paul Parker. And the former Red Devils defender has drawn comparisons between Hojlund and Cristiano Ronaldo while hailing Erik ten Hag’s £72million man.
Hojlund has shown promising signs in the early stages of his United career, netting three times in his opening two Champions League games against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.
But poor defending resulted in two defeats, most recently the 3-2 loss to the Turkish champions at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
United conceded rapidly after both of Hojlund’s goals, first a poacher’s header from a pinpoint Marcus Rashford cross before finishing a sensational solo run from his own half.
Parker believes the 20-year-old Dane should be annoyed at United’s dire defending, which ultimately tarnished a dream home European debut at the club.
“They let him down, and they didn’t do their job. They never allowed him to enjoy scoring his goals. He should be furious,” Parker told SpilXperten.
“But what I really like about him is that he is not pointing people out. Ronaldo would have pointed fingers, saying that they let him down.

“I don’t think that’s in Hojlund’s nature, to be honest, and he has been doing things the right way from the start of his time at Man Utd.”
Parker heaped praise on Hojlund, labelling the United No 11 an ‘amazing player’ capable of developing even further.
And the 59-year-old claimed it was only a matter of time before he found the net for the first time in the Premier League.
But Parker reserved criticism for Hojlund’s United teammates, suggesting he needs better service if he is to continue scoring goals for Ten Hag.
He added: “The problem for him is the way he is getting utilised. He was utilised better against Galatasaray, but in general, he needs more help from his teammates.

“He will still improve as a player, but I really believe that he can achieve great things, especially if he gets some better players around him.
“Man United should have more players with his attitude around him. To be perfectly honest, I would understand if he was looking at his teammates yesterday and just shaking his head.”
Hojlund has struck up a blossoming relationship with Marcus Rashford that will only improve over time, while Bruno Fernandes has a reputation for his relentless chance-creation.
But United have been not near their best since Hojlund’s arrival, and an improvement throughout the team would be bound to heighten his impact.
