PSG fans gave their team a grand welcome to the Parc des Princes, letting off flares and singing loudly ahead of their Champions League semi-final.

The French side are looking to reach the European final for a consecutive year as they take on Manchester City.

And they are hosting Pep Guardiola's side in the first leg in what is being dubbed "El Cashico" on social media due to the club's Middle Eastern ownership models.

While fans are not allowed into the ground, footage has emerged of supporters giving their side an aggressive style of motivation.

In the clip, PSG's bus can be seen making its way through a large throng of fans.

Several fans are holding red flares while the group chants and tries to be seen by the players in the vehicle.

While other images showed supporters gathered in their hundreds outside the team hotel earlier in the afternoon.

PSG come into the fixture with three consecutive wins in Ligue, having knocked out holders Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.

While City are fresh from lifting their first piece of silverware this season in the Carabao Cup final win over Tottenham on Sunday.

But Guardiola has played down the significance of the fixture – despite the Spaniard having bettered his quarter-final finish with City from the last three seasons.

He said: "I don't want to win tomorrow, I don't want to go to a final. The dream is to be ourselves.

"We know we are going to suffer in both games and they are going to have chances. Everyone knows the quality they have.

"But in the semi-finals of the Champions League, what do you expect? But at the same time are we going to spend 90 minutes thinking about this player or that player? You have to enjoy the pressure and the situation."
