Premier League’s 20 sexiest players – with no Grealish and surprise name at No1

Premier League stars are often ranked by goals, clean sheets or even pace – but a new study has rated them by looks alone.

Utilising the golden ratio, which rates perceived attractiveness using mathematical symmetry, some surprise names get the nod with Manchester City heartthrob Jack Grealish nowhere to be seen.

Burnley, Arsenal, Fulham and Crystal Palace stars are included with the top spot being nabbed by a 90.91 score out of a hundred by a central defender.

The study, completed by Live Football Tickets, has been whittled down to a top 20 of attractive stars – with no Manchester United players in sight.

The first three names on the list come in the form of Burnley's Jordan Beyer on 78.97, Luton's Tahith Chong with 79.19 and Ilya Zabarnyi of Bournemouth with 79.23.

In at 17 is Brighton star Evan Ferguson with 79.64, just behind Goncalo Guedes of Wolves on 80.86 and Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic on 81.48.

Just outside the top ten are Liverpool's Darwin Nunez on 82.47, Brighton's Joao Pedro on 82.52, Sander Berge of Sheffield United with 84.34 and Liverpool's Luis Diaz on 84.88.

Between 10 and the magic top five are Elijah Adebayo of Luton (84.90), Brentford's Aaron Hickey on 85.01, Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest on 85.67, Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard on 86.03 and Everton's Vitaliy Mykolenko on 86.11.

5. Joachim Andersen – 87.03

Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen, 27, makes it in at five and it's easy to see why.

The Denmark international is a mainstay in Roy Hodgson's side having initially impressed in the Premier League with Fulham.

He could also double as a Danish model and has at times rocked a Grealish-style hairband which only helped in catching the eye of fans.

4. Gabriel Martinelli – 89.44

Arsenal prospect Gabriel Martinelli comes in at four with another fine score to match his ability on the pitch.

Born and raised in Brazil, the 22-year-old moved to London back in 2019 and has since scored 33 goals across 132 senior appearances.

Having come close to firing Arsenal to the title last season, the forward will be hoping that his side finish higher than he did in their study in 2023/24.

3. John Egan – 89.83

Sheffield United captain John Egan makes the podium with a fine score of 89.83 on his return to Premier League action thanks to their promotion.

The 30-year-old has made over 200 appearances for the club since his 2018 arrival – and also has 34 international caps to his name with the Republic of Ireland.

Egan won't be expecting Paul Heckingbottom's side to finish as high as he did in this table next season – with 17th the target.

2. Marcos Senesi – 90.24

Argentina international Marcos Senesi comes in second among Premier League stars with a golden ratio verdict of 90.24.

The 26-year-old centre back, who signed from Feyenoord back in 2022, will be hoping to have as big an impact in the top flight as he did in this study.

Senesi, who made his Argentina debut back in 2022, was also called up by their opponents Italy ahead of the 022 Finalissima.

1. Issa Diop – 90.91

In at first by a decent margin is Fulham defender Issa Diop – who has been assigned a score of 90.91.

The 26-year-old, who moved across London from West Ham on a five-year contract back in 2022, helped them to a tenth place top-flight finish last season.

Diop, a former France youth international, will no doubt be delighted with his place on the list after helping Fulham to a win over Everton on the opening day.
