Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has slammed Gunners boss Mikel Arteta as a ‘stubborn, inexperienced, struggling manager’ and claims the Spaniard has struggled to cope with the club’s big personalities. The television host is a strong critic of Arteta and believes he has mishandled star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, labelling him ‘mad for potentially selling the player.
Aubameyang appears set to depart the Emirates Stadium having been banished from the first-team squad by Arteta.
The Gabon international has not featured since December 6. He was excluded from the squad for the following week’s Premier League clash with Southampton and stripped of the captaincy following a ‘disciplinary breach’.
Arteta has been left with few striking options since dropping Aubameyang, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah sharing the centre-forward role.
And Morgan has brutally taken aim at Arteta in a stinging defence of Aubameyang.

“This whole @Auba situation is utterly enraging,” Morgan tweeted.
“Great guy with a brilliant scoring record for Arsenal, driven out by a stubborn inexperienced struggling manager who can’t handle big talent and has no other top-class striker to replace him. Mad.”
Morgan was responding to a Sky Sports News tweet which reported that Juventus and Barcelona were in talks over signing Aubameyang.
The European heavyweights have proposed possible loan deals for the forward, who has scored just for Premier League goals this season.
Losing Aubameyang would leave Arteta incredibly short of attacking options. Lacazette and Nketiah are his only other recognised strikers but both see their contracts expire in June.
Neither seem likely to pen fresh terms with the North Londoners and will likely leave in the summer.
Lacazette has interest from across Europe while Express Sport understands that Nketiah is wanted by a couple of Premier League clubs.
Fellow forward Gabriel Martinelli can play through the centre but his best performances have arrived coming inside from the left of a front three.
Arsenal are desperately trying to sign a new striker but are finding the January transfer window difficult to navigate.

They seemed to be leading the race to sign highly-rated Serbia international Dusan Vlahovic. However, the 22-year-old is set to join Juve in a £62m transfer.
According to ESPN, Jonathan David could be targeted as an alternative but Arsenal fear that a bidding war with Chelsea and Tottenham could commence for the Lille starlet.
Swedish forward Alexander Isak is another option. The Real Sociedad player has earned a reputation as one of the best young attackers in Spanish football.
Arsenal have just three days before the transfer window slams shut. They are yet to complete any signings this month.
