Nathan Jones spotted playing non-league football days after Southampton sacking
Nathan Jones has been spotted having a kick about just days after being given the boot by bottom-of-the-table Southampton.
The Premier League side chose to show Jones the exit door after they found themselves rock bottom of the table and having just lost 2-1 at home to 10-man Wolves. Following the fairly unsurprising sacking, the Welshman has been spotted getting into the thick of it at grassroots level.
One Sunday League fan has claimed that the former Luton Town and Stoke City boss turned out for 12th-tier Cranbone FC, with the manager even believed to have bagged himself an assist as the side went on to win 4-0.

Despite finally getting a win under his belt, the manager who wasn't afraid to turn heads during his stint in the top division was forced off inside 10 minutes with an injury.

The club tweeted on Saturday: "And it’s a goal early on! Debutant Nathan Jones puts a great cross in from the left, and Driscoll scores!"
Fans were jubilant with the turnout from the manager turned player. @carlpoore1 tweeted: "Last Saturday managing @SouthamptonFC, this Saturday playing for the mighty Cranes. Brilliant."
@RRWB_ wrote: "He'll be telling you how statistically nobody in Europe has a better game-to-assist ratio."
@JFBLucas said: "Mad story. One week you’re managing in the Premier League, the next you’re playing in the Dorset League."
Southampton remain without a manager following Jones' departure, although interim boss Ruben Selle did his chances of getting the job on a permanent basis no harm with Saturday's 1-0 win over Chelsea.
