Mohamed Salah addresses interview answer that Man Utd fans took as a dig
Mohamed Salah has put the record straight after Manchester United fans fumed at his post-match comments following Liverpool's 4-0 romping over the Red Devils.
The Reds star, 29, bagged a brace as Jurgen Klopp's side humiliated their arch-rivals for the second time this season. The free-scoring forward coolly slotted past David de Gea after 22 minutes before rounding off the scoring with a dinked finish in the dying embers of the game.
The result left Man Utd fans seething at the full-time whistle and their rage was further enhanced by Salah's post-match comments. The Egyptian maestro appeared to aim a dig at Ralf Rangnick's side: "They make our life easier in the midfield and the back.
"They always try to give us the ball in a one-against one-situation. So they make our lives much easier so I think when we defend well, we had a clean sheet here [at Anfield] and a clean sheet there [during Liverpool's 5-0 win at Old Trafford] they make our lives easier to score."
United fans believed the remark was a sly dig at their shoddy defending and poor passing as the away side constantly gifted possession back to Liverpool. Klopp's side dominated the game from the outset with 72 per cent of the ball.
