Kylian Mbappe refused to clarify his future with Paris Saint-Germain following their Coupe de France final win over Monaco.

The 22-year-old was the star of the show on Wednesday night as he scored one and set up the other in a 2-0 win which sealed another trophy for boss Mauricio Pochettino.

With Neymar having signed a three-year contract extension earlier this month, believed to be worth £26million per year, PSG are now looking to strike an agreement with Mbappe.

Boss Mauricio Pochettino is counting on keeping his star forward in Paris for years to come

Mbappe finds himself out of contract in June 2022 and he will not be short on offers with Real Madrid among the long-term admirers.

But when quizzed on if he will follow Neymar’s lead in committing to the Paris-based side, Mbappe elected to celebrate his latest trophy, rather than make any bold declarations on his future.

‘You have to enjoy the title, that’s the most important thing,’ he told France 2 when asked about next season.

‘Look at all the people who are happy! This is the most important thing and I am the first happy guy.

He scored one and set up the other to defeat Monaco but would not discuss his PSG future

‘We work every day to have this type of emotion, reward and recognition. It’s the work of a whole group, a whole staff who work every day for us, for the club and of course the supporters who could not be there. We think about them a lot and this title is for them.

‘When you play for Paris Saint-Germain, one of the best clubs in the world, the biggest club in the country, every title counts to go down in history. Plus it’s a young club, we want to be part of this history and it’s a great stage today.’

Nobody at PSG wants to see the young striker depart as he continues his ascendancy to becoming a perennial Ballon d’Or candidate.

Winning Wednesday’s Coupe de France represented Mbappe’s 13th major trophy at the age of just 22.

Mbappe is thriving at 22 and will have a long list of suitors if he elects against a new contract

Full-back Alessandro Florenzi spoke after defeating Monaco on his hopes that PSG can strike a deal that entices Mbappe to stay.

‘We believe in Mbappe,’ Florenzi told Eurosport. ‘He is one of the best players in the world. We hope he will keep us happy for a long time.’

Mbappe has enjoyed another impressive campaign personally, registering 41 goals and 11 assists from 46 matches in 2020-21.

He will now hope he can cap off this season with a league title with one point separating second place PSG and leaders Lille heading into the final round of Ligue 1 this weekend.
