Marcus Rashford adds 4kg of muscle ahead of return to Man Utd first-team
Marcus Rashford has reportedly managed to put on 4kg of muscle following his recent shoulder surgery, but lost mass in his upper body while mobility was reduced after the operation.
The 23-year-old played through pain last season at Old Trafford and continued doing so at Euro 2020 with England before going under the knife before the start of the 2021/22 campaign.
With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer delighting fans by revealing that Rashford is back in contention to take on Leicester in the Premier League on Saturday, details of his condition have been reported.
The two-month rehabilitation period has given Rashford the chance to build on his lower body, but the club have put together a plan to get his upper body back to full strength.
The Mail report news of the 4kg muscle gain but loss in upper body muscle mass, and add that the club want him to bulk up as soon as possible to protect him from further injury.
They add that United want the star to add protein to his diet to help build back his overall weight, and that he will then have a better chance of withstanding Premier League demands.
Ahead of his welcome return to the pitch, Solskjaer has told Rashford to focus on football rather than anything else to get his career back on track.
