Manchester United transfer target Anthony did not train alongside his Ajax teammates on Friday, despite the Dutch club rejecting United’s £67million offer.

Despite being rebuffed in his interest in the winger, United boss Erik ten Hag is said to still be interested in bringing Antony to Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window.

Ten Hag has long been an admirer of Antony, having signed him during his time in charge of the Eredivisie champions back in 2020.

The Brazilian winger was brought to Ajax from Sao Paulo by then-boss Erik ten Hag in 2020

Antony is said to be interested in linking up with his former manager, and according to a report from Dutch publication De Telegraaf the 22-year-old did not train alongside his teammates on Friday following the rejected bid.

While Alfred Schreuder’s squad trained together for Ajax’s game against Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday, Antony instead worked in the gym without his teammates.

Ajax brass are debating whether to leave Antony out of the club’s squad for Sunday’s game as the player has made it clear that he would like to join United this summer.

The Brazil international has started both of de Godenzonen’s opening games of the Eredivisie campaign this season, and scored in the club’s 6-1 win over Groningen on Sunday.

PSV’s Dutch international Cody Gakpo is also a target for Ten Hag this summer

Erik ten Hag is also still interested in bringing Dutch international Cody Gakpo to Old Trafford. The PSV star made his Holland debut during EURO 2020, and scored 21 goals across all competitions last season.

The 23-year-old has hit the ground running for PSV this campaign, bagging three goals and two assists in just three matches across all competitions for last season’s Eredivisie runners-up.

However, new signing Casemiro will miss United’s game against Liverpool on Monday, as the club were unable to get the deal for the Brazilian midfielder over the line in time to register him before the 12pm deadline on Friday.
