Manchester United’s annual busy summer of transfer activity is just around the corner and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has plenty of work to do in the market this year. The Red Devils are reportedly set to target a centre-back and right-winger but there could be other options on the table in the coming months.

Between the sticks, Solskjaer is set to make a cut-throat decision. It seems highly likely that there will be only one first-choice goalkeeper next season and Dean Henderson is in pole position to prevail.

David de Gea could move on and help free up some funds to spend elsewhere and there could be another central defender in town by the start of next season.

Joachim Andersen is the latest name to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.

The Dane has flourished on loan at Fulham this season and is now attracting interest from the likes of United and Tottenham.

His leadership, aerial prowess and passing ability suggest he has what it takes to play alongside Harry Maguire, with Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka completing the backline.

At the base of midfield there could be plenty of changes with Paul Pogba’s future still undecided.

Presuming he stays at United, he will most definitely start while Declan Rice is another player Ed Woodward could target.

West Ham’s interest in Jesse Lingard could tempt them into a move for the holding midfielder, who would be the ideal fit for United.

In front of him, Bruno Fernandes picks himself as the No 10 and is the man United need to continue building the team around.

Marcus Rashford will keep his place on the left while reports in Italy claim that Juventus’ Dejan Kulusevski is of interest to United.

The forward has struggled this season in Turin but many feel he still has the potential to become a special talent.

Kulusevski usually plays centrally but has also played out wide for Parma, Juve and Sweden.

Through the middle, there could also be changes with Edinson Cavani’s future still undecided as he targets a return to South America.

Erling Haaland is way out of United’s price range but another viable option is Andre Silva of Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Portuguese is represented by Jorge Mendes, who looks set to earn his client a big move this summer.

Silva has natural chemistry with Fernandes from their time together with Portugal and has been prolific this season in the Bundesliga, hitting 22 goals in 25 matches.

He could help elevate United’s attack to a new level.

Potential Man United XI (4-2-3-1): Henderson; Shaw, Andersen, Maguire, Wan-Bissaka, Rice, Pogba; Rashford, Fernandes, Kulusevski; Andre Silva.
