Manchester United supporters have been gushing at the sight of Christian Eriksen's fine finish for Denmark.

The Dane was playing for his home national against Croatia in the Nations League when he hit a delightful shot.

Borna Sosa and Lovro Majer's goals meant that Croatia secured a 2-1 win over Denmark in their Group A1 clash.

But the pick of the bunch was Eriksen's great goal from distance, picking the ball up and firing it into the net from long distance, wowing those watching.

The strike had United supporters going wild online. One wrote: "He immediately got into space the moment his team mate recovered the ball back and clever man that he is he knows what to do next!!"

A second said: "what a player honestly! free transfer btw." Another wrote: "United should have spent £90m on this guy years ago and not spent it on pogba! He's always been a fantastic footballer." Someone else stated: "Christian Eriksen, free transfer for the best midfielder in the world. Tears in my eyes."

A last one wrote: "He could’ve been up there as one of best midfielders in history if he didn’t waste his prime years at spurs."

Indeed, after falling behind, Eriksen equalised for the visitors on 77 minutes, before two minutes later Majer put his side ahead once more.

With the win, the Croatians leapfrog Denmark into first-place. They will face Austria this weekend, while Denmark will play France, who Austria 2-0 to win their first game of the competition..

Eriksen made the emotional return to English football in January – signing a contract with Brentford. Afterwhich, in the summer after mulling over several offers, he opted to join United, to serve under new manager Erik ten Hag. After a slow start to the season, United have now found their form, earning four wins on the bounce.
