Man Utd ‘close’ to Jadon Sancho transfer while Juan Mata in pay debate
Plenty of eyes may be on England on Sunday afternoon as the Three Lions get their Euro 2020 campaign underway, but focus for club managers remains on the transfer market.
That's no different for Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is set for a very busy summer.
The Red Devils are yet to make any additions since the transfer window has opened, though continue to be linked with a number of names.
A partner for Harry Maguire is believed to be a priority for Solskjaer, while the boss is also keen to strengthen his attacking options.
And Daily Star Sport have rounded up the best transfer gossip of the lot coming out of Old Trafford.
Cristian Romero admission
Manchester United target Cristian Romero is happy to stay at Atalanta next season.
Romero, who has also been linked with a move to United's Premier League rivals Liverpool, said: “Of course [I would be happy to stay].
“I am waiting for president [Antonio] Percassi to tell me, ‘Romero, you are ours’. I hope this good news will arrive soon.”
Red Devils 'close' to Sancho
United and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly nearing an agreement for the transfer of Jadon Sancho.
The England star has often been linked with a move to Old Trafford with personal terms believed to have been sorted.
90min claim that the deal is progressing and that a complete agreement for a transfer isn’t far away.
Mata pay cut
Juan Mata will have to take a significant pay cut to stay at Manchester United.
The Spanish midfielder, 33, is out of contract at the end of the month but has been offered a new one-year deal.
However, Mata will have to agree to his weekly salary being slashed from £170,000 to £100,000.
Whether the ex-Chelsea playmaker accepts those terms remains to be seen – and may depend on what other clubs are willing to pay him to secure his services.
