McGregor latest celebrity to join Reynolds’ Wrexham after announcing new link-up

Conor McGregor is the latest celebrity to join Ryan Reynolds' Wrexham hype-train after announcing a new link-up with the club.

Red Dragons fans will get the chance to sip on McGregor's Forged Irish Stout ahead of their must-win match against Yeovil Town on Tuesday. The UFC icon revealed that his beverage will be on sale outside the Racehorse stadium from a mobile truck, via the Turf Hotel.

Notorious announced that the presence of his drink is to help raise awareness for Wrexham star Paul Mullin's charity Your Space which supports Autism. And McGregor described their collaboration as "absolute magic", while urging supporters to "show love."

He said on Twitter when making the announcement: "Taking my @ForgedStout tank into the absolute magic that is happening at @Wrexham_AFC, and in aid of helping a great charity “Your Space” that raises awareness and support for autism. Drop by and show love if you are in town. Try out the game changer."

And Turf Hotel owner, Wayne Jones, elaborated on McGregor's declaration and added: "This Tuesday before Yeovil we will be selling @TheNotoriousMMA's very own Irish Stout from a mobile truck by the Marquee. We will be donating all sales yo @PMullin7 backed Charity YourSpace. I’m told it’s a belting pint so all support would be very much appreciated."

Wrexham need three points against Yeovil as they seek to secure the automatic promotion spot in the National League. But they dropped two vital points in their pursuit of the top spot after drawing 0-0 with Barnet, as Notts County breathe down their necks at the table's summit.

The match against Barnet was heated one which saw Wrexham's manager Phil Parkinson sent off after clashing with the opposition's keeper, Laurie Walker. Parkinson's dismissal was preceded by his player, Callum McFadzean's red card in the second half, after the wing-back also clashed with Barnet's stopper, which caused the bust-up with the Red Dragons boss.
