Manchester United have reportedly asked for information on Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic. The Serbian international is widely regarded as one of the best young defenders in Europe for his age and could be set to land a move this summer.
Milenkovic arrived in Italy back in 2017 and is now a regular for his country, having represented them at the World Cup in Russia in 2018.
His stock is now high but having decided to stall on a new contract at Fiorentina, the Serie A club are being backed into a corner.
The ball-playing centre-back is now in the final 18 months of his deal and is not looking to extend his contract.
It means Fiorentina will have to cash in this summer if they want to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

And according to Italian journalist Francesco Guerrieri, United are one of the clubs that have asked for information of the young defender.
Other reports claim that United already have a professional relationship with his representatives.
Talks over a potential deal would be expected to commence in the coming weeks, if a summer transfer was on the cards.
The development has emerged in light of the news that Eric Bailly could reportedly be set to snub a new contract.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently confirmed United had opened talks with the player’s reps over an extension.
“Yes we are talking to Eric and Eric’s representatives,” confirmed Solskjaer.
“He is keeping fitter for longer and you can see his performances as well and I have been very happy with him. His playing style has sometimes made him lose too many games because 100 games that is not enough for the period he has been here.
“He is getting more and more robust so yes he is one we are talking to.”
But The Sun claim the Ivorian is now preparing to reject an extension from United.
Bailly is said to be angry that he was left out of the United team to face AC Milan in the first-leg at Old Trafford.
It’s said that Bailly no longer holds an interest in extending his stay at the club and will now look to move on.
Coincidentally, Milan have previously held an interest in the 26-year-old, who is allegedly upset with his current situation.
