Liverpool target Tchouameni all set for £85m Real Madrid transfer
Liverpool could be set to miss out on Monaco starlet Aurelien Tchouameni after the Frenchman has agreed to an £85million move to Real Madrid.
The Reds, alongside Manchester United and PSG, had been interested in the services of the youngster. However, according to The Athletic, Tchouameni has agreed to join Los Blancos with just paperwork and regulatory procedures needed to make the deal official.
The 22-year-old was a key part of the Monaco side that finished third in Ligue 1 this season. And his impressive performances have also seen him become a regular in Didier Deschamps’ French side during international periods.
Tchouameni has received glowing praise from former Premier League star Cesc Fabregas.
The Spaniard, who played with him at Monaco, told Ligue 1: “I think he can play anywhere in midfield and not have a problem.
"He can play as a defensive midfielder, a No.6, he can play as a No.8. In a few years’ time, I even believe he can become a good No.10 because he has the power to get into the box."

Liverpool will now be forced to turn their attention elsewhere, and the Reds could move for Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham.
The Reds have been heavily linked to the young starlet who moved to Germany in 2020.
