Liverpool have reportedly tabled a £60million bid for Leeds winger Raphinha as they look to bolster their forward line further after convincing Darwin Nunez to move to Anfield.

The Reds are on the verge of capturing Benfica star Nunez, 22, for £64million, although that could rise to £85million with future adds-ons. And Jurgen Klopp seems keen to add more depth to his attacking options with the signing of Leeds ace Raphinha.

The Brazilian has lit up the Premier League since his arrival from Rennes in 2020, scoring 17 goals and providing 12 assists in 67 top-flight matches. According to Spanish publication Sport, Liverpool have submitted an offer in the region of £60million for the star.

However, the report adds that Raphinha and his agent, Deco, have so far rejected every all offers that have come their way. Leeds would be reluctant to allow the 25-year-old to leave Elland Road as they bid to establish themselves in the Premier League, but it seems likely that his future could lie away from West Yorkshire.

Sport adds that Liverpool want Raphinha as a replacement for Sadio Mane, who appears to be on his way out of Anfield with a move to Bayern Munich imminent. But the the former Sporting Lisbon ace is claimed to have said 'no' to a switch to Merseyside in favour of holding out on La Liga giants Barcelona.

That might not be quite so simple, with the Catalan club still constrained by economic factors. Barcelona are unable to sign the South American in their current financial situation and may need to shift Frenkie de Jong – a target for Manchester United – to fund a move for Raphinha.

A switch to the Nou Camp for Raphinha might not please Brazil legend Rivaldo, who last year urged the prodigious talent to sign for Liverpool.

"If he were to make the move, he may not be a regular starter, but I'm sure it would be a big step in his career," Samba legend Rivaldo said of his fellow countryman.

"It would allow him to compete for titles and play in the Champions League which could be crucial for more call ups into the Brazilian national team.

"He has the quality to play for a bigger club. He is playing excellent football and a player always wants more and stronger challenges, so he would benefit from a transfer."
