But former Arsenal goalkeeper Szczesny – who has a long history of mocking the fans of the Gunners’ rivals – has spurned the chance to move to Antonio Conte’s side, claim the reports
After Spurs were beaten 5-1 by already-relegated ten-man Newcastle on the last day of the season in May 2016, he tweeted: ‘Spurs,’ with a cry-laughing and love heart emoji.
When he knocked the north London side out of the Champions League with Juventus in March 2018, he teased their supporters on social media.
The 70-cap international posted a picture of the dressing-room celebrations on Instagram with the caption: ‘Great win and celebrations versus one of the best teams in North London. FORZA JUVE! North London is red.’
He was then seen performing a sarcastic ‘chin up’ gesture to fans as he walked down the tunnel at Wembley Stadium.
Spurs are keen to sign a goalkeeper, with injured captain Hugo Lloris, 36, questioned by fans after several costly mistakes this season, and Fraser Forster, 34, the current No 2.
Szczesny has been first-choice at the Allianz Stadium since signing from the Gunners back in summer 2017.
He has made 201 appearances in all competitions for the Turin side, winning three Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias and a Supercoppa Italia trophy.
Gazzetta suggested a move to America’s top-flight Major League Soccer could be on the cards for Szczesny towards the end of his career.
