Firmino has been a popular figure at Anfield since his £29million arrival from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in 2015.

He has made 353 appearances, scored 107 goals and won the Champions League and Premier League with the Reds.

The past two years have seen his game-time decrease due to the additions of Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez. Liverpool also signed Cody Gakpo for £44m.

It means the former famed front three of him, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah will be reduced to just the Egyptian come the start of next season.

Firmino is one of five players out of contract in the summer, with midfielders Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also set to leave.

In January, Jurgen Klopp expressed his desire for Firmino to stay beyond his current deal.

The manager previously said the player was ‘a complete footballer’ and ‘plays something like 12 instruments in our orchestra’.

Last month, it was reported that Firmino was on the verge of signing a new Liverpool contract.
