Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel could reportedly have up to £200million to spend on new signings this summer. Tuchel wants to improve in several key areas despite leading the Blues to Champions League glory on Saturday. Express Sport looks at how Tuchel could set his side up next season if he captures his top targets in the upcoming window.

Goalkeeper – Mendy

Edouard Mendy was one of Chelsea’s players of the season and will keep his spot as No 1 next term.

The 29-year-old’s rise from being unemployed seven years ago to winning the Champions League is remarkable.

The Senegal star is rarely flustered and gives confidence to the Blues backline.

Chelsea have a dependable keeper for years to come in Mendy.

Defence – Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Rudiger

Tuchel could stick with the same defence which started Saturday’s final in Porto.

The Telegraph claim the German wants to sign at least one defender in the next window.

But Thiago Silva is set to stay and Antonio Rudiger has been in the form of his life at Chelsea.

Meanwhile, captain Cesar Azpilicueta won his seventh Chelsea trophy at the weekend and has flourished in his role under Tuchel.

Midfield – Traore, Rice, Kante, Chilwell

One defender Tuchel is targeting is Wolves star Adama Traore, with the intention of playing him at wing-back.

The Telegraph also claims West Ham star Declan Rice is Tuchel’s top target in midfield but the Hammers will demand an extortionate fee for the 22-year-old after qualifying for the Europa League.

N’Golo Kante is now back to his best and put in a man of the match display against City.

Ben Chilwell is the long-term option at left wing-back despite Marcos Alonso getting some minutes in recent months.

Attack – Mount, Lukaku, Werner

Tuchel wants to sign a striker, with Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku and Tottenham’s Harry Kane on the agenda.

The rivalry with Spurs makes a move for Lukaku much more likely to happen.

Timo Werner has not had the goal output he would have wanted this season but is a key part of how Tuchel’s side go forward.

Mason Mount completes the frontline, with the England star one of the first names on the team sheet.

How Chelsea could line up next season in full: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Rudiger; Traore, Rice, Kante, Chilwell; Mount, Lukaku, Werner.
