Harry Kane says wife text Christian Eriksen’s devastated partner after collapse

Harry Kane has revealed that his wife sent a text to Christian Eriksen’s partner following the former Tottenham star’s collapse.

The midfielder left the world in shock when he fell to the ground in cardiac arrest during Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener against Finland last Saturday.

As captain Simon Kjaer made sure the team formed a wall to give the 29-year-old privacy, his partner Sabrina Kvist Jensen made her down from the stands.

She was seen in tears as the players, including Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, consoled her.

And Kane, who played with Eriksen at Spurs for six-and-a-half seasons before his Inter Milan move, revealed his wife Katie Goodland made a gesture to Jensen during the traumatic period.

Speaking to ITV , the forward said: "I texted him but haven't got a response yet. Obviously I think he's undergoing some tests.

"My wife managed to speak to his wife and she said they're doing OK. They're going through checks and obviously it's a scary time for him and his family.

"It was dreadful to watch and I just wish him and his family all the best and hopefully he makes a speedy recovery."

Kane was preparing for England’s Euro 2020 opener against Croatia when the news came through from the Parken Arena, Copenhagen.

And it gave the 27-year-old pause for thought, adding: "I think sometimes we take things for granted, football for granted and life for granted.

"That was a reminder that things can be taken away so quickly."

Eriksen was stabilised by paramedics when he arrived in hospital and shared a snap on Tuesday of his recovery.

Giving a thumbs up and smiling to the camera, the 29-year-old wrote on Instagram: "Hello everyone, Big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world.

"It means a lot to me and my family. I'm fine — under the circumstances.

"I still have to go through some examinations at the hospital, but I feel okay. Now, I will cheer on the boys on the Denmark team in the next matches. Play for all of Denmark.”
