Guardiola says Premier League title race not over after Man City loss to Man Utd
Pep Guardiola told his Manchester City players not to lose their nerve with the title in sight after their 21-match winning run came to an end
Local rivals United halted City's formidable victory run and 28-game unbeaten streak in all competitions with a win at the Etihad Stadium.
An early penalty from Bruno Fernandes and a second-half goal from Luke Shaw saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side cut City's lead over them to 11 points at the top.
Although City are still in control of the title race and need seven wins from their 10 remaining games to be champions, Guardiola admitted anything can happen.
“In football, everything can happen,” said Guardiola. “We can win or lose the next games.
“That’s why, when people say Pep says the same answer, it's because I know everything can happen.
“We lost today, but we'll try to win the Premier League. We need seven victories and, when you get to the last 10 games, everything is going to be shorter.
“Our opponents have to win all of their games and we have to lose four.

"We will be the news today because we lost. But there are still 30 points to play and we have to start to win again.
“We have 10 games left, now we arrive at the important part of the season. We will try to win as many games as possible to be champions.”
United boss Solskjaer hailed his side and said: "I thought we defended really well and we were more like ourselves with the ball, attacking-wise.
“City are so far ahead you can't really think about anything but making sure we win our games and be better than last year. We were third last season, so we want to move up the table, of course."
United goalscorer Fernandes said: "Today we did almost everything perfect. Scoring in the first minute was perfect and we remained focused until the end of the game.
"The league is not a sprint. It's a marathon. We have to do our best and not think about others.”
