Guardiola claims Arsenal are in false position as he opens up on Arteta bond
Pep Guardiola claims Arsenal deserve to be much higher than 10th in the Premier League after outplaying their opposition in every game over the last month.
Manchester City travel to the Emirates on Sunday afternoon as Guardiola is pitted against his former protege, Mikel Arteta.
City are in commanding form and are searching to extend their record-breaking run of consecutive wins to 18.
They face an Arsenal side which has been far more inconsistent in recent weeks, with just one win in their last four league games.
Nonetheless, Guardiola is wary of the Gunners and claims their performances are worthy of a better position in the table.
"Over the last month or two they've played better than the opponent in every game," said Guardiola. "As a manager you want the results you deserve, sometimes it doesn't happen.
"But in the games they are always better, controlling, creating chances and conceding few.
"We'll need to play as good as possible with the ball and run a lot. They have exceptional build up, the quality and energy."

Arteta worked as Guardiola's assistant at City for three-and-a-half seasons before taking on the Arsenal job in December 2019.
But Guardiola insisted he cannot take credit for Arteta's progress in north London as he opened up on their time together at the Etihad.
He added: "I didn't inspire him. I know absolutely that I wasn't any influence, he takes all the credit with his staff.
"I learned off him and we worked together. I listen a lot to my assistants, most of the time we take decisions together.
"I don't know the influence – he has to answer. I worked really well with him and now he's doing it for himself."
