Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp looks set for a busy end to the transfer window with two stars missing from training on Thursday who look set to leave. The German head coach has made it clear that any new signings at Liverpool before deadline day will depend solely on players being sold.

Liverpool have a huge squad heading into the new season despite making just one signing this summer.

Ibrahima Konate remains the only new arrival at Anfield and he’s yet to make his full debut.

The sales of Marko Grujic, Harry Wilson and other youth team players come close to the fee Liverpool paid for Konate.

But more outgoings are to be expected in the final few days of the market and Thursday’s training session provided the latest hint on who could leave.

Both Xherdan Shaqiri and Ben Woodburn were once again missing with growing expectation they will depart, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Shaqiri has attracted strong interest from Lyon, who have already made an offer for the Switzerland international.

Their initial bid was said to be short of Liverpool’s valuation, but it appears that Lyon haven’t walked away from negotiations just yet.

Woodburn meanwhile is reportedly set to leave the Merseyside club with a host of clubs showing interest in a loan deal.

DON’T MISS

Scottish side Hearts are said to be the closest to agreeing terms on a season-long loan for Woodburn.

Woodburn and Shaqiri were also joined by Fabinho and James Milner in missing Thursday’s training session.

Milner played the full 90 minutes against Norwich last weekend while Fabinho came on midway through the second half.

Both were not seen on Thursday, however the report claims there aren’t any concerns about their possible involvement this weekend.

There was good news with both Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara continuing their fitness.

Neither of them were included in the matchday squad against Norwich, but could feature against Burnley.

Joe Gomez also made progress in his road to recovery as he made his return to the training pitch after missing a few sessions.
