Chelsea completed the signing of Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday after reportedly paying the Ukrainian club £87million for the winger. But his arrival at Stamford Bridge is bad news for six players, with three of them in line to head for the exit.

Mudryk had looked set to sign for Arsenal after the Gunners submitted three bids for the 22-year-old. But he eventually put pen-to-paper on an eight-and-a-half year contract at Chelsea after the Blues hijacked the deal.

Mudryk is likely to be thrust straight into the Chelsea team at the earliest opportunity after watching his new team-mates take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. But some of his colleagues won’t be thanking club chiefs for signing the star.

One player who is in danger of losing his place in Graham Potter’s team is Raheem Sterling. The England international only moved to west London last summer after joining from Manchester City in a £50million deal. But Sterling has underwhelmed in the capital and is yet to find his top form in a Chelsea shirt.

Fellow winger Callum Hudson-Odoi will also struggle to force his way into the Chelsea side with Mudryk ahead of him in the pecking order. The 22-year-old came through the club’s academy and has made 126 first-team appearances but is currently on loan at Bayer Leverkusen. And he won’t fancy his chances of becoming a Blues star when he returns to west London.

Mudryk’s arrival is also bad news for PSV winger Noni Madueke. The 20-year-old Englishman, who spent time with Crystal Palace and Tottenham as a youngster, has been linked with a £27m move to Stamford Bridge this month. But now Mudryk is in town, Blues owner Todd Boehly may feel Madueke isn’t needed.

With Chelsea signing a whole host of stars during the last two transfer window, three of their players are also in danger of being moved on. Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic have both flattered to deceive in Chelsea colours – and Boehly could decide to cash in on the duo rather than leaving them to rot as squad players.

England international Conor Gallagher could also be in line for the chop, despite the fact he has appeared in 17 Premier League games this campaign. Gallagher impressed during a loan spell with Crystal Palace last season and could net the Blues a healthy transfer fee if the club did decide to sell him.
