Everton will host Liverpool in the 239th Merseyside derby as part of the Premier League’s midweek action as Rafa Benitez welcomes his former side to Goodison Park.

The Toffees have lost five of their last six games under the ex-Reds boss and will be desperate for a return to form against their title challenging rivals across Stanley Park.

Meanwhile former Reds captain Steven Gerrard will be focused on his Aston Villa side as they entertain champions Manchester City in the evening’s other 8.15pm kick-off.

Villa boss Steven Gerrard makes two changes, bringing in Emi Buendia and Douglas Luiz.

Following the 1-0 defeat by Brentford, Alex Iwobi and Anthony Gordon depart and coming in are Demarai Gray and Richarlison.

Liverpool meanwhile make just the one switch, with Joel Matip coming in at the back for Ibrahima Konate.

On a side note, the idea of going for a jog on a route alongside a rival stadium doesn’t really appeal. Takes all sorts though I guess….

We will be focused on the derby here as well as Aston Villa vs Manchester City but to catch all the 7.30pm kick-offs including Watford vs Chelsea then Isabel Baldwin will guide you through right here.

A chilly night in the North West, temperatures around four degrees Celsius, but then it is now late Autumn as we enter December. We shouldn’t really be surprised of there being a nip in the air.

And I don’t mean just mean in terms of the fierce rivalry between Everton and Liverpool.

Liverpool, who have lost just once all season, visit their neighbors who can barely get a point at the moment let alone a win – so it’s only going to go one way right?

But something, something, ‘derby’, something, something ‘form goes out the window’ – so good evening all and welcome to our live coverage of the 239th Merseyside derby.
