Eriksen returns to Inter for first time since heart scare as club give update
Christian Eriksen has returned to Inter’s training facility for the first time following his collapse on the pitch at Euro 2020.
The midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s opening match against Finland.
Eriksen had to be resuscitated on the pitch after he stopped breathing and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital in Copenhagen for further tests.
The 29-year-old was released six days later after being fitted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD).
Eriksen was able to watch the rest of the tournament from the sidelines as his team-mates made it all the way to the semi-finals, where they were defeated by England.
On Wednesday, Eriksen visited Inter’s Suning Training Centre and the club provided an update on the Danish midfielder's condition.
"This morning Christian Eriksen paid a visit to the Suning Training Centre in Appiano Gentile," a statement on Inter’sofficial websitereads.
"The Danish midfielder met the club directors, the coach, team-mates and all of the staff present. Eriksen is doing well and is in excellent physical and mental shape.

"He will now follow the recovery programme put forward by Danish doctors in Copenhagen, who will also co-ordinate the clinical follow-up. The Inter medical staff will naturally be kept informed and up to date throughout the process."
It is not yet known if Eriksen will ever play for professional football again.
Eriksen’s former Ajax team-mate Daley Blind was able to continue his footballing career following the fitting of an ICD, however, Serie A rules prohibit such use.
When asked about Eriksen playing for Inter with the device installed, Francesco Braconaro of Italian FA technical scientific committee said: "Christian Eriksen cannot be given the all-clear to play in Italy.
"If the player has the defibrillator removed, therefore confirming the pathology can be resolved, then he can return to play for Inter."
Eriksen joined Inter on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Tottenham in January 2020, after pushing for a north London exit following seven years at the club.
The Danish midfielder helped the Italian giants win their first Scudetto in 11 years, ending Juventus' nine-year grasp on the Serie A title.
The 29-year-old has made 60 appearances for Inter so far, scoring 6 times.
