Manchester United stars including new loan signing Wout Weghorst arrived at Manchester Airport with the rest of the squad ahead of their Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils are due to face the Eagles at Selhurst Park on Wednesday evening as they bid to put the pressure on the top three in the top-flight.

Erik ten Hag’s side currently sit fourth in the Premier League, level on points with Newcastle United, and just one point behind second-place Manchester City.

Midfielder Christian Eriksen has been pictured driving the new striker Weghorst to the airport ahead of his potential United debut.

Weghorst had been on loan at Besiktas from Burnley after the Dutch international was unable to prevent Burnley from being relegated to the Championship – but he could be in line to even start with Anthony Martial being a doubt for the clash.

Numerous other stars including in-form star Marcus Rashford were also seen arriving by car ahead of making their way down to London for yet another vital top-flight clash.

United travel to Selhurst Park seeking a 10th consecutive win in all competitions, knowing a victory would move them second in the Premier League, six points behind leaders Arsenal.

The team, however, is travelling in London, just after the news broke that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly confirmed that his firm Ineos have officially entered the race to buy United.

The Glazers announced their plans to sell United in November, 17 years after taking over at Old Trafford.

They are said to want £5billion for the club, and Ineos have now registered their interest in ousting them, according to The Times.

Formal bids are set to begin in February, and offers are expected to come in from parties in the US, Middle East and Asia.

Saudi Arabia has already confirmed its investors’ desires to purchase the club, along with Liverpool.

Meanwhile Ratcliffe, who is listed by Forbes as Britain’s richest man, has made his intentions clear early, though, as he looks to avoid missing out on buying the Premier League club.

United are not the only English club that Ratcliffe has tried to buy, as he also made a late bid for Chelsea last year when they were put for sale by Roman Abramovich.

His audacious offer failed, as an American consortium led by Todd Boehly took over instead, paying £2.5bn, while also pledging to commit £1.75bn in further investment down the line.
