Erik ten Hag singles out two Manchester United stars after Forest win

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag singled out his two full-backs following Sunday’s win over Nottingham Forest. The Dutchman made a point of praising Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka for their impact on the win.

Sky Sports presenter David Jones asked Ten Hag: “It seemed like they had a lot of time in the midfield areas, Christian Eriksen and also Bruno Fernandes who we saw on the ball a lot. Was that part of your planning today?”

But Ten Hag insisted the performances of Dalot and Wan-Bissaka allowed the United midfield to thrive. He replied: “Yes. Both full-backs are important in that, to work together, to come inside, to go outside in cooperation.

“I think we attracted them and then we created space and in the right moments, the timing was good to pass the ball in central areas. Then we progress, when we go to wide areas we had to switch and I think we did that quite well.”
