Eddie Howe has admitted assistant Jason Tindall does have ‘an eye for the camera’ after a viral Twitter account said he is ‘desperate to be the centre of attention’.
The 45-year-old, who also worked with Howe at Bournemouth, has received a lot of criticism on social media recently.
In January, an unknown football fan called their Twitter profile ‘Jason Tindall desperate to be the centre of attention’ and started to post memes.
Nicknamed ‘Mad Dog’ for his sideline behaviour, Tindall has since gone viral for his ‘attention-seeking’ antics.
Speaking on CBS Sports about his ‘eye for the camera’, Howe said: ‘That’s something that we’ve never really talked about really.

‘We’re both very active on the sidelines and I’ve encouraged Jason to be that way.
‘We were very much a partnership when we started in management – we try to do everything that we can to help the players.
‘We’re situated on the front there and in the game he gradually makes his way over [to the fourth official] because he’s on my left!
‘But he’s a great guy and he’s been brilliant for me this year.’
Tindall played almost 200 games for Bournemouth before retiring in 2011.
The Twitter page has posted images of Tindall pushing to shake hands with opposition managers before Howe.
He also appears to be the first person to greet players after they have been substituted and is often seen in interviews with Howe.
Newcastle have responded by tweeting a picture of Tindall on the sidelines of St James’ Park alongside a goat emoji.
The Magpies lost 2-0 to Arsenal last week, but have won eight of their last 10 league games to stay on course for Champions League football next season.
