Cristiano Ronaldo ‘ready to slash mega £480k-a-week wages’ to force Man Utd exit

Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to slash his eye-watering £480,000-per-week paycheck to join a Champions League contender.

Ronaldo has reportedly made it clear to Manchester United that if an offer comes in for him, he wants to leave this summer. And that could come at the cost of the Portuguese megastar having to take a pay cut – which he would accept.

According to The Independent, Ronaldo's desire to win the Champions League one more time is driving his push for the exit door. And he is 'willing to make significant compromises' for potential suitors if it means he can play in Europe's premier competition.

Chelsea have been strongly linked to the Portuguese superstar, while Bayern Munich and PSG have also been named as potential destinations.

A return to Italy could be on the cards, but only Roma and Napoli have been linked with Jose Mourinho's side failing to make the Champions League cut, while Napoli have played down rumours – a move to either looks unlikely.

Ronaldo missed the Red Devils' first pre-season session on Monday for ‘family reasons’.

Ronaldo has already seen his pay slashes once this season due to United's poor performance on the pitch.

Under Ralf Rangnick, United failed to qualify for the Champions League, which triggered a clause in Ronaldo's contract that saw his pay cut.
