Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa.
The 18-year-old midfielder has been given permission to travel to London to finalise a £20million move, according to The Athletic. He will be the third arrival of the summer at Stamford Bridge, following Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly through the door.
Chukwuemeka has been a man in demand in the transfer window following a breakthrough season at Villa. He made 12 Premier League appearances in their 2021/22 campaign.

He also made his debut for England's under-19s last September and went on to play a major part in their European Championship success last month. He scored three goals, including the extra-time winner in the final against Israel.
Barcelona and AC Milan were said to be amongst a number of clubs across Europe monitoring him as a result, but Chelsea look to have fended off the competition for his signature.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has claimed the Blues are set to tie him down to a six-year contract. He will travel to London tonight (August 2) to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical, which has been scheduled for tomorrow.
Villa had been pursuing a contract extension for Chukwuemeka since last October but failed to convince him to stay. Thomas Tuchel supposedly met with him last week to help push the move over the line.
The deal is worth up to £20m with add-ons, with Evening Standard journalist Nizaar Kinsela reporting that the £12m signing of goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina is expected to be following soon.
