Beckham’s new Inter Miami XI set to feature ex-Liverpool and Man Utd stars

David Beckham looks set to build a powerhouse XI of ex-Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal stars in his Inter Miami team.

The Red Devils hero is preparing to take the side he set up three years ago into their second-ever MLS season.

Having finished 10th in the Eastern Conference last year to make the first play-off round, he has called on former team-mate Phil Neville to improve the east-coast side’s fortunes.

With the former England No.7’s wealth at their disposal, Miami are set for a big transformation to the squad ahead of the new campaign.

One of those players has already arrived in Ryan Shawcross, who joined last month to end a 13-year stay with Stoke City.

The defender grew up in the Old Trafford academy – but loan spells at Antwerp and then the Championship side limited him to just two appearances in the famous red shirt.

While it was confirmed this week that he would be joined by Kieran Gibbs, the former Gunners left-back.

Making more than 200 appearances for the Gunners and winning three FA Cups, he has made just 11 in the Premier League this season with West Brom.

With his contract set to expire over the summer, though, that will pave the way for his exit to Miami.

But he could also be joined by fellow ex-England international Daniel Sturridge.

According to the Mail, Beckham has joined the race with DC United to sign the free agent after his departure from Trabzonspor last year.

While he may be 31 years old, his exploits with Liverpool – scoring 24 goals in the 2013/14 season where they narrowly missed out on the title – would be appealing to the MLS side.
