The Socceroos have handled business against the 183rd ranked Bangladesh winning 7-0 at AAMI Park tonight.
Jamie Maclaren scored a hat-trick and Mitch Duke scored a brace while Harry Souttar and Brandon Borrello scored single goals.
The Socceroos play a second FIFA World Cup qualifier against Palestine in Kuwait on Wednesday at 1am AEDT.

Penalty missed
Aiden O’Neill made a strong run down the right and went into the box where a clumsy tackle brought him down from behind.
Maclaren gave the ball to Massimo Luongo to take the penalty but his low shot to the keeper’s right was saved.

Football Australia will be encouraged by a crowd of 20,876 at tonight’s game given it is a Thursday night against a weaker opponent.
GOAL: Maclaren gets his hat-trick
Miller’s hard running down the right side has led to the seventh goal as he ran onto a pass and sent in a fast, low cross to Maclaren who smashed home his third goal of the half.
Brilliant night for Maclaren and strong display for Miller as a right back.

Yengi becomes Socceroo number 638
Striker Kusini Yengi has come on for his Socceroos debut, he is Socceroo number 638.
He has 20 minutes to get a goal on debut.

Jamie Maclaren has his second goal with another timely tap-in after a shot from Luongo forced the keeper into a parry that fell right onto the Melbourne City striker’s feet.

Scrappy period for Socceroos
In a 5-0 game, the Socceroos have had a relatively poor few minutes with their crosses missing the mark when scoring chances were available.
Lewis Miller has been very strong with his runs from defence down the right sideline.
Midfielder Aiden O’Neill has come on for Keanu Baccus.

Maclaren, Borrello miss a chance
Maclaren and Borrello got themselves mixed up right in front of goal and let a chance go begging.
Neither man appeared to know the other was there and the keeper saved it.

Former Melbourne City teammates Jordan Bos and Jamie Maclaren have linked up for the fifth goal.
Bos sent a powerfully low cross to the middle where Maclaren tapped it home, just minutes after coming into the game.
